Air Arabia Jordan is a low-cost carrier based in Jordan.[2] The airline is a joint venture between the Jordanian travel and tourism company, Tantash Group, and Air Arabia.

Air Arabia Jordan will be the first low cost airline based in Jordan and will follow the same business model used by its parent company Air Arabia as it attempts to compete within the Middle East, African and European markets.

However, no first flights have been announced yet (as of April 8, 2011). Destination routes are in the stage of planning.

History

Air Arabia announced at a press conference on 8 June 2010 that they will be setting up a new airline to be based in Jordan with Tantash to launch Jordan's first low cost airline. Air Arabia stated it hoped to boost tourism in Jordan, expand its network and provide convenient services to the Jordanian community.[3]

Fleet

The airline's fleet will center around the Airbus A320 (as operated by Air Arabia).[4] Air Arabia Jordan and Air Arabia have not confirmed how many aircraft will be leased or when the leasing will commence.
